Collierville Education Foundation grants you’ll see in classrooms this fall

During the 2025-26 grant cycle, we awarded 68 grants to teachers in Collierville Schools thanks to our generous sponsors and donors! Public schools in Collierville received materials that students will use well beyond just one school year. Throughout the year, we share the impact made on classrooms in our blog posts. Since we can’t highlight them all individually, we’re recapping a few of last cycle’s grants that will still be used in the coming year.
Choral microphones
If you’ve had the chance to attend a Collierville High School choir concert, you know just how impressive the performances are. The grand auditorium sets the stage for a stellar performance. In the past, the school borrowed choral microphones from a local church for each performance. Choir director Matthew Morrison applied for a Collierville Education Foundation grant for a set of choral microphones, and we were proud to fund the project. With three new microphones, the choir members’ voices will be amplified for every future performance.
Wellness Walkway
Similar to the walking track funds we granted to Collierville Middle School a couple of grant cycles ago, we helped fund Sycamore Elementary’s new Wellness Walkway! Our grant led to the installation of a universally accessible, safe and durable asphalt walking track. The Wellness Walkway is just over one-fifth of a mile long and eight feet wide. The track will be used each day by all grade levels during recess and physical education classes, as well as by extracurricular clubs and the community for years to come.
American history maps
West Collierville Middle School eighth-grade social studies classrooms now have access to a complete set of American History maps. While they previously had digital resources, these new, large-format physical maps provide a more engaging and interactive learning experience. We provided 16 maps spanning from the early settlement of North America through the Civil War. The maps help students connect more deeply with historical content by visualizing where events took place, fostering relevance and personal connection – especially when students recognize or have visited the historical locations being studied.
Drone kits
Students at Schilling Farms Elementary School are soaring with their 30 new drone kits! These kits enable students to engage in hands-on, collaborative drone challenges that teach coding, flight mechanics and engineering design concepts. They work in small teams to pilot drones, navigate obstacle courses and program autonomous flight paths. Each time they utilize the kits, they apply science, math and technology skills in real-world challenges.
Welcome goodie bags
Any new students enrolling at Sycamore Elementary will receive “welcome home” baskets! Entering a new environment can be overwhelming for everyone, especially our youngest students. This grant helps ease any nerves for new students by giving them a goodie bag of mini mascot mementos. Students will enjoy colorful keychains, school-themed pencils, and spirited stress relievers to help them get acquainted with their new school. These tangible tokens let students know they’re part of a welcoming school community.
